Photovoltaics in architecture

Nowadays there are more and more installations of renewable sources of energy. One of them is changing of sunlight into electric energy by using photovoltaic cells. Installation of photovoltaic systems into buildings and landscape is becoming modern approach to architecture and urbanism. It creates new architectonic expression - "solar design" and brings not only the energy profit but successful substitution for traditional materials and its usable properties.

Resource assessment of environmental risks in industrial enterprise

This diploma thesis is focused on evaluating the sources of environmental risks in the safety domain of the Honeywell Aerospace Olomouc company. First part of the diploma thesis is theoretical and serves as an entry to problematics of severe accidents prevention, risks identification and assessment. In the next part all the chemical substances stored in this international industrial company are valorised, the substances most dangerous to the environment are identified and certain precautions to prevent serious accidents are suggested according to valid legislation and recommended methods of the Ministry of the Environment.

Building B3 of the Sadová residential complex - building technology project

The subject of thesis is construction technological project of B3 object, aiming at apartment building, which is the main building object. The apartment building consists of four above-ground floors and is established on foundation strips. The principal of thesis elaboration is the budget of the main object and the construction schedule. The diploma thesis also deals with the draft of construction site equipment for particular steps of construction, the construction organization, the lifting mechanism design, the technological regulation for selected operation, the transport accessibility and the protection of health and safety at work taking into account environmental protection.

Determination of trace amounts of mercury by voltammetry

This bachelor thesis concentrates on the optimalization of conditions for voltammetric determination of mercury in water. The theoretical part describes fundamental characteristics of mercury as a chemical element, impact on the environment and possible analytical methods for determination with emphasis on voltammetry. The experimental part includes the description of the optimalization of analysis conditions, applied methods and the analysis of real samples.

Influence of the Kvasiny industrial zone on the development of the region

This diploma thesis deals with influence of the Kvasiny industrial zone on the development of Rychnovska. This industrial zone is made up of one strategic investor, namely Škoda Auto a.s. with the plant in Kvasiny. The main attention was paid to the economic entities operating in the Rychnov nad Kněžnou district. First, a SWOT analysis of the ORP Rychnov nad Kněžnou and the industrial zones itself was carried out. Subsequently, a questionnaire survey was used, which was used to identify both positive and negative impacts on economic operators operating in the region.

Criminal liability of legal persons in the environmental protection

This thesis is concerned with the topic of corporate criminal liability in the environmental contexts. The main purpose of the text is to describe possible ways for application of this phenomenon for the purposes of the environmental protection in practice and to evaluate its functioning so far. The first two chapters of the thesis focus on a general introduction to the topic of liability for environmental offences, and the background process for introducing corporate criminal liability into the Czech legal system, including the international incentives. The third chapter of the work aims to analyze some of the relevant sections of Act. No. 418/2011 Coll. and their capability to contribute to effective environmental protection. The importance of the fourth chapter lies in comparison of the advantages and drawbacks for using administrative or criminal liability for the purposes of sanctioning environmental offences. The analysis carried out in the first part of the thesis, leads to conclusions on the employment of corporate criminal liability in environmental law, and some of the possible recommendations for the enforcement authorities. Finally, there is a comparative chapter about the corporate criminal liability in England and Wales.

Quo Vadis, Slovakia? Context scenarios about the Environment of the Slovak Republic

The main objective of the thesis is an analysis of possible future scenarios. This research is systematically focused on the analysis of the future possible trends in the context of the Slovak Republic's environment. The basis of the analysis is to identify the key external drivers and according to them to create the final scenarios of the future. The main approach to the scenario building in this thesis is the method of Cross-Impact Balance. Scenarios were created by semi-structured interviews with experts and by using the combinatorial analysis of consistency in terms of cross-impact of individual variants of the driving forces. The result of this thesis is five scenarios, referring to the future context of the environment of the Slovak Republic, depending on the development of a combination of different variants of external factors. For this scenarios there has been prepared the analysis of risks and opportunities in the perspective of the Environment of the Slovak Republic. Identified scenarios can be briefly described through the impact from least to the most positive. The first scenario shows the threat of an environmental collapse. The second scenario describes a power struggle over the resources and the consequences of excessive use of raw materials. The middle scenario describes the risk...
